Mostafa Dianati-Nasabi, PhD
Postdoc

In 2013, I successfully completed the BSc in Public Health, and then I started my MSc in Epidemiology at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran. After my Master, I started working as a faculty member and was responsible for study execution, teaching, and student supervision. After that, I moved to the Netherlands, where I did my PhD in epidemiology at Maastricht University. In October 2022, I successfully defended my PhD, and my project was on big data analysis on the effects of diet and bladder cancer risk. Throughout my journey, I have been involved in diverse international cohort studies, meta-analyses, case-control studies, and randomised controlled trials (RCTs), contributing significantly to the fields of epidemiology, oncology, infectious diseases, diabetes, and public health. In recognition of my efforts, I proudly received the top researcher prize in both 2019 and 2020. During these times I have been at the forefront of analyzing real-world patient data.

Post-PhD, I continued my research journey as a scientific researcher at The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Lyon, France with the collaboration of Amsterdam University. My journey includes teaching various courses, such as epidemiology principles and methods, study design, execution of RCTs, and meta-analysis. I have also left a substantial academic footprint, with over 70 peer-reviewed articles to my name (H-index: 36 on Google Scholar) and the mentorship of more than 10 MSc, MD, or PhD students. My research findings have graced the pages of prestigious journals, including The Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), the European Journal of Epidemiology, and the International Journal of Cancer.

Furthermore, I have had the privilege of serving as both an editor and peer reviewer for esteemed scientific journals.
