I obtained the title of Privatdozentin (PD) from the University of Bern, and the PhD degree, Doctor of Science (DSc) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Clinical Epidemiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam. I am also a medical doctor specialized in Internal Medicine at the University of Tirana. Over the years, I have been awarded peer-reviewed grants by prestigious European foundations, which has allowed me to perform research visits and trainings in renown academic institutions including Harvard University, University of Bern, Erasmus and Newcastle University. I have co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in the area of cardiometabolic health, and my research findings have been published in leading journals including JAMA Internal Medicine, Circulation Research, PLOS Medicine, JACC.
Since 2018, I am working at the University of Bern and Bern University Hospital. My research work focuses on applications of epidemiology in clinical practice, study conceptualization and design, data analyses, systematic reviews, metaanalyses and evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice. I also supervise students and additionally lecture clinical epidemiology in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Bern.
